An inmate serving a four year sentence for forgery out of Sebastian County in the Maximum Security Unit in Tucker Prison was found dead in his cell Saturday.

Cody Brickner, 30, of Mansfield, was discovered dead inside his cell around 1:30 a.m., according to information released by the prison on Wednesday.

That conviction stemmed from a 2009 forgery incident which was adjudicated in March of 2010 and he had been released on probation, but subsequent violations for being a felon possession of a firearm, theft if property and fleeing resulted in a petition to revoke in 2015.

Prison officials refused to speculate on the cause of death, saying that an internal investigation into the death in addition to a state police query into the circumstances surrounding the situation would be conducted.
