LITTLE ROCK - No one has been able to touch Greenwood this year, and the Bulldogs would prefer to keep it that way as they head into tonight’s Class 6A State Championship game at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock.

The Pine Bluff Zebras would like to change that fact, and may have the best shot this year of doing so. Coach Bobby Bolding’s Zebras have one loss on the year to Cabot in the first week of the season, and then they have never looked back on anyone.

It is a rematch between the two teams who faced off in the state championship back in 2015, and they know each other well.

“It’s always come down to the last possession,” Greenwood Coach Rick Jones told the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. “It’s been a great rivalry. They do a great job coaching, and their kids always play hard. They play hard and clean. We have a tremendous amount of respect for them.”

The Class 6A title is today’s only game, then tomorrow features Bentonville taking on North Little Rock at noon for the Class 7A crown, and McClellan facing off with Pulaski Academy for the Class 5A crown at 7:30 PM.
