FSPD seeking suspect in September stabbing incident

Fort Smith police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a n unknown male suspect in the investigation of a stabbing that occurred at a bar on Grand Avenue in September.

Police say on September 17 at 11:35 p.m. they responded to a call at Shooters Bar and Grill at 2201 Grand Avenue in reference to a man being treated for a stab wound.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with the 28-year-old victim, Jacob Holland, who was being treated for a stab wound in the back.

Holland said while at the bar he was confronted by an acquaintance he knew only by the name of “Richard” and the to exchanged words, which led to a physical confrontation in the parking lot. Holland said that later “Richard” confronted him with a knife and stabbed him once while chasing him in the parking lot.

Holland was treated and later released from an area hospital.

Det. Eric Fairless with the Fort Smith Police Deparment is attempting to identify the male in the photographs.

If anyone knows the identify of he suspect or his whereabouts they are urged to call Crime Stoppers at 78-CRIME or the Fort Smith Police Department at 479-709-5100.
