FORT SMITH - Do you have questions about diabetes? Find answers during a free seminar at Mercy featuring certified diabetes educators and registered dieticians.
Learn more about diabetes and how to manage it from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5, at Mercy Hospital Fort Smith’s Hennessy Education Center, located between the hospital and emergency entrances off South 74th Street.
Topics will cover diabetes management, including lifestyle changes to make living with diabetes easier. Speakers will be endocrinologist Dr. Frederick Niegos, ophthalmologist Dr. Christopher Greer, podiatrist Dr. Raj Rammohan and registered dietician Jenna Siebenmorgen.
“Diabetes is a growing issue in our community,” said Dr. Niegos of Mercy Clinic Endocrinology. “There needs to be more awareness and education for people suffering from this disease. That’s why this event is important. It will allow us to expand the number of people we’re able to help, while raising awareness of the impact diabetes has on not only individual patients, but also our community.”
While the seminar is free, registration is required at mercy.net/Diabetes18 or by calling 479-314-6722.
