Four fatal accidents claimed the lives of four Arkansan’s on state roadways in the past week, pushing the total number of fatalities in the state to 334 for 2017.

A 77-year-old Crossett pedestrian was killed when he was hit while walking along a U.S. Highway 113 in Ashley County on Thursday.

At approximately 8:10 p.m. in Ashley County, 2017 Chevrolet was heading south on U.S. 133 and struck a Max Huber of who was walking south in a traffic lane, according to the incident report filed by Trooper Lukas Tankersly.

Huber was pronounced dead at the scene.

ASP officials said a Glenwood woman was killed and a man was injured after a car collided with a box truck on a U.S. highway in Pike County on Wednesday

Troopers logged the accident as occurring at 2:40 p.m. in Glenwood.

A 2004 Suzuki Verona was heading west on U.S. 70 while a 2016 Isuzu NPR truck was heading east, state police said.

The Verona crossed the center line and ran into the front of the truck, according to the ASP preliminary report posted by Trooper Ryne D. Shelton.

The Verona’s driver, 64-year-old Carolyn Lovelace of Glenwood, died of her injuries.

A Heber Springs man was killed and two others were injured in a head-on collision in Cleburne County last Monday afternoon, authorities said.

The two vehicle crash occurred around 4:15 p.m. near Greers Ferry, according to an Arkansas State Police report.

A 2013 Nissan was driving west on Arkansas 92 while a 1998 Ford was heading in the opposite direction, police said. The Nissan crossed the centerline and ran into the Ford head-on, the report said.

The Ford’s driver, 54-year-old Kevin Michael Powers of Heber Springs, was fatally injured, according to the report filed by Trooper Clint D. Vaughan.

A 36-year-old Arkansas man was killed after he was thrown from a motorcycle into a street sign near Interstate 30 in southwest Little Rock last Sunday night, police in Pulaski County said.

The accident occurred around 9:55 p.m. on the Interstate 30 Frontage Road near Bass Pro Shops.

James David Putt of Lonoke was riding a 2007 Honda motorcycle south when the vehicle hit a curb at a high rate of speed, crossed a sidewalk and struck a dirt mound, police said. The impact ejected Putt from the motorcycle and sent him into a street sign, according to the report filed by Trooper Kyle Henson.

He suffered fatal injuries. No one else was reported hurt in the wreck.
