Fort Smith police announce drug bust last week

Last Friday, the Fort Smith Police Department’s Narcotics and Vice Unit conducted an undercover operation directed at a residence located in the 2100 block of North 46th Terrace.

While procuring a search warrant for the residence, a vehicle left occupied by two men. A K9 officer initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, but the driver fled.

The passenger was observed throwing items from the window during the pursuit. The pursuit ended when the driver jumped from the moving vehicle and fled on foot in the 4600 block of Spradling Avenue.

The passenger, 25 year-old Alex Amador, was taken into custody and charged with Fleeing Apprehension, Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Deliver, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Investigators are still attempting to positively identify the driver.

Once a search warrant was obtained, Fort Smith SWAT was called to assist. As SWAT members entered the home, 33 year-old Oscar Perez attempted to flee through the garage, but was quickly taken into custody.

Four additional people were found inside the home and taken into custody. They were identified as Jorje Perez.29, Magan Moore, 26, Maria Perez, 52, and a 17-year-old Hispanic male.

A search of the residence resulted in the seizure of suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, multiple firearms (one reported as stolen), approximately $14,000 in cash, and several thousand dollars worth of property believed to have been purchased through drug sales.

All face an array of charges to include, but not limited to, Maintaining a Premises for Drug Sales, Delivery of Methamphetamine, Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Deliver, Simultaneous Possession of Drugs and Firearms, Felon in Possession of Firearm, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Theft by Receiving, and outstanding-unrelated warrants.
