Authorities in Texas have arrested a Springdale man who has been on the lam since an arrest warrant out of Washington County was issued in May in the alleged rape of a 7-year-old girl.
Victor Hugo Alverez-Real, 35, a former on-air talent for Univision Arkansas has been booked into a detention facility in Dallas County and is being held on a $250,00 pending extradition to Arkansas.
Alvarez-Real was a host of various programs and coverage by Univision, a division of Pinnacle Media LLC until he left the company in January.
Univision/KWNL, channel 31, is licensed to Winslow. The station operates out of a suite of offices on College Avenue in Fayetteville.
According to the complaint filed against Alvarez-Real for the warrant, the former television host had sexual encounters with the 7-year-old on multiple occasions in 2016.
