You can expect the unexpected at First Tuesday in downtown Fort Smith on Tuesday, June 6, from 5-8 p.m. in the lot next to the West End Park at 2nd Street and Garrison.

Hosted by the Fort Smith Downtown Merchants Association, the event is designed to give local residents an opportunity to shop on the avenue with extended hours for retailers as well as showcase a lot of family fun in the Fort.

The Fort Smith Farmer’s Market on Garrison Avenue will be open and all of the vendors will be joined by car enthusiasts showing their rides.

Across the avenue, The River Valley Artisan Market will be in Pendergraft Park with creative artist vendors and food trucks.

You can stroll the avenue as your favorite retail shops stay open late and grab a meal at a downtown restaurant. The Park at West End will be open and offering FREE carousel and Ferris wheel rides for kids 12 and under.

There will be pony rides and face painting as the students from the Community School of Arts will be offering their talents by painting faces and performing at the event.

The Lawbreakers and Peacemakers will be strolling the avenue for photo opportunities and you never know when a random gunfight might break out.

You’ll be able to grab a free hot dog compliments of First National and Arvest in the parking lot by the Unexpected mural.

Everyone is invited to make First Tuesday a part of your summer every month in 2017.
