FORT SMITH - The United Way of Fort Smith is determined to raise awareness of a few key issues with an upcoming event. “Rising In The River Valley” will be held on February 14th at the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith campus, highlighting some things that just don’t get talked about every day.
“Join us as we RALLY to bring awareness and education on the issues of sexual assault and domestic violence. There will be information tables where attendees can get information from local agencies that provide services related to these issues.” the United Way said in an announcement. “At noon, there will be a program where local dignitaries and survivors will speak, followed by a dance and a walk around the campus green.”
