Etta Mae Cox Hendrix

MARCH 10, 1943 – MARCH 5, 2019

Etta Mae (Cox) Hendrix, 75 of Pocola, gained her wings and went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 surrounded by her kids and family. She was born March 10, 1943 in Gore, OK to the late James and Zelma Mae Brown. She was a homemaker, she loved quilting, cooking but most of all she loved her grandchildren, they were her heart. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Cotton Cox, daughter, Angela Etta Mae, son’s; William Cox and Richard Cox, a sister, Betty Adams, brother’s; Joe Brown and Alfred McGuire, and great grandson, Kaleb Masterson. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Friday, March 8, 2019 at Fentress Mortuary Chapel with burial to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Etta is survived by her children; Brenda and Keith Sutterfield of Roland, Laverne and John Adkins Sutton of Rock Island, Elmer and Teresa Cox of Ft. Smith, Ronnie and Connie Cox of Ft. Smith, Pamela Cox Capshaw of Pocola, her grandchildren; Jessica Masterson, Amanda Cox Rasavong, Bobby Cox, Tabitha Cox, Jason Cox, Samuel Cox, Tiffany Crockett, Joseph and Steven Nuzzi, William Cox, Jr., Kasey Cox, Shanda McDonald, China Bandy, Brittany Cox, Michael Cox, Matthew Cox, Shawn Cody, and Destiny Welch. Etta is also survived by 25 Great Grandchildren, a multitude of nieces and nephews and extended family that loved her dearly. She is also survived by her sister, Evelyn Brown and brothers; Abbe McGuire and Mike Brown. The family extends a special thank you to Tradition Home Health and her home health aide Willean Cook and nurse Courtney, and Mercy Hospice for the great care of our mother.
