Dyer man sentenced to 10 years for four 2016 sexual assaults

A 32 year-old Dyer man pleaded guilty to 2nd degree sexual assault in circuit court in Crawford County on Monday.

Christopher Michael Baker got a 10-year sentence and 10 more years were suspended.

Baker had been charged with four felony counts from violations that occurred between January 1-April 30, 2016. The actual criminal information sheet says Baker engaged with sexual contact with an individual that under 14 years of age, which is a Class B felony.

He had been free on a $10,000 bond pending his court appearance on Monday.

In addition to the 10-year sentence with 10 years suspended, Baker must enroll and complete the sexual offender program.

He was also charged with Act 5-4-501 as a habitual offender, but there was no designation on the statewide case information site addressing those charges.
