MANSFIELD- The Sebastian County Sheriffs Office reports a juvenile escapee was captured quickly and taken back into custody early this afternoon.
The SCSO received a call around 12:15 PM from the Mansfield Juvenile Center which stated a 14 year old male had climbed the fence at the center and was last seen running east, according to a press release.
Within about 40 minutes the Mansfield juvenile center notified the Sheriff’s Office that the juvenile had been located by a property owner near Spur Lake. The property owner reportedly was holding the juvenile at gunpoint.
Deputies quickly arrived at the property and took custody of the juvenile. The escapee was taken to the Sebastian County Juvenile Detention Center and booked on escape charges.
The Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office reports that neither the juvenile, any staff members of the juvenile center, nor any deputies were injured during the capture.
