TULSA - The National Weather Service says dense, and in some cases freezing fog could be a factor in many parts of the region for much of the day. Motorists are advised to keep an eye out for hazardous conditions, especially in Northwest Arkansas and Northeast Oklahoma.

“There is the potential for more fog development tonight into early Tuesday morning especially across parts of northeast Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas.” Forecasters said on Monday night. “The temperatures overnight will fall below freezing, allowing for freezing fog to develop. This may result in slick spots on area roads. Use extra care when driving on Tuesday morning. Temperatures will rise above freezing and fog will dissipate by mid-morning.”

Meteorologists note that a strong cold front will sweep through the region on Thursday.

“A light wintry mix may occur later Thursday as the system exits the region, although amounts appear minimal at this time.” the Forecast Office said. “Much colder air will settle in for late week and into the weekend, with single digit wind chills possible Saturday and Sunday mornings.”
