FORT SMITH - Those who wish to do so are urged to use caution, but a ban on outdoor burning has been lifted across the county. The Sebastian County Judge’s Office had issued the ban on December 7th following several weeks of dry and windy conditions.
Significant rainfall doused the area as colder temperatures moved into the Arkansas River Valley earlier this week.
In Western Arkansas, Polk County remains under a ban as of Thursday morning. Six other counties in Northern and Eastern Arkansas also continued a burn ban in their respective areas.
