Betty F. Griggs, 93, of Fort Smith, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2017.
She was born in Fort Smith on Feb. 23, 1924, to the late William Raymond Harper and Helen Jones Harper. Betty worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company.
She was a long-time member of St. Luke Lutheran Church. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Griggs, her sisters, Helen O’Neal and Doris Parker and her brother, W. R. (Bud) Harper.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Pavilion at the National Cemetery with burial to follow at the National Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
Betty is survived by her son W. Ross Griggs and wife Cindy; grandchildren Neil Griggs and wife Kim, and Dan Griggs and wife Ami; great-grandsons Nash, Trent and Joe; sister-in-law Dr. Joan Harper and several nieces and nephews.
