FORT SMITH - The Fort Smith Police Department says they have tracked down the suspect in a drive-by shooting overnight.

“On Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at around 12:46 A.M. officers responded to the 200 block of S 12 ST in reference to a drive-by shooting. The victim reported that her ex-boyfriend, Donnie White drove by her parent’s home where she was hiding from him due to previous domestic issues in Lavaca.” Corporal Anthony Rice said in a statement. “White shot at a vehicle that was occupied by the victim’s friend who was there to pick her up. The victim and her parents were standing by the vehicle during the shooting. A bullet struck the vehicle, just missing the victims.”

White was located a short time later in the 1300 block of South 12th ST. where he was arrested by Fort Smith Police Officers without incident. Prior to the shooting incident, White rammed the friend’s vehicle that was shot near South P ST and followed the friend to the shooting location.

He was charged with terroristic act, four counts of aggravated assault, terroristic threatening and domestic aggravated assault.
