Alfred “Butch” Freitas, Jr., 73, of Charleston, passed away Thursday, June 8, 2017. He was born April 26, 1944, in Fort Smith to the late Alfred and Helen Freitas, Sr.
He was a former custodian at Mercy Hospital. He loved life to the fullest, enjoying his grandchildren, cooking, fishing, camping, animals, and people.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Cynthia, and a son Timothy.
Butch is survived by his wife Loretta of the home; three step-daughters, Channa Gardenhire, Leigha Belk, and Jessica Graham; three daughters, Ilene, Kimberly, and Rebecca, his son Alfred, III; his sister, Patricia Childers, brother John Freitas and 14 Grandchildren.
Memorial graveside service with military honors will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 14, at the Fort Smith National Cemetery Pavilion. Arrangements are under the direction of Fentress Funeral Mortuary
