TULSA - After severe weather moved through parts of the region Monday night, the National Weather Service warned residents of the possibility of flash flooding across the area. A Flash Flood Watch is in effect through this evening for the Tulsa Metropolitan Area, and points east and south.

“Several rounds of showers and thunderstorms producing heavy rainfall are expected over Eastern Oklahoma and Northwest Arkansas Monday into Tuesday. Widespread heavy rainfall of 1 to 3 inches with locally higher amounts in the 4 to 5 inch range will be possible,” Meteorologists said. “This rainfall on top of recent rains could lead to flash flooding as well as main-stem river flooding. A flash flood watch is in effect from Monday afternoon into Tuesday morning for much of Eastern Oklahoma and also Northwest Arkansas.”
