No local cases as statewide COVID-19 numbers rise

UPDATE (3:12 PM) - The number of confirmed cases in Arkansas has now risen to 62. The Arkansas Department of Health says there are still no confirmed cases in Sebastian or Crawford Counties.

Numbers have risen in Cleburne County, where at least three new cases have been found since the first two were detected earlier in the week. In Western Arkansas, new cases have been confirmed in Clark and Sevier Counties.

FORT SMITH - The Arkansas Department of Health says that although the number of COVID-19 confirmed cases in the state has officially risen to 37, that Sebastian and Crawford Counties have had no patients with positive test results.

New cases were announced Wednesday night, pushing the number of cases in Pulaski County to over ten. Of the cases tested, 30 of them came from the Department of Health facilities, while seven cases were confirmed positive by private labs.

Some 423 persons are being monitored by ADH with daily check-in and guidance because of an identified risk, while another 112 are under investigation.

The Department said that between five and ten tests conducted in Sebastian County were found negative.
