LITTLE ROCK - The Arkansas Department of Health says that a child has died of influenza as of this week.
The incident brings the number of flu deaths to 23.
Some 8,800 positive flu diagnoses have been reported to the department since September 29th. 1,100 of those were reported in the first week of January.
Two deaths were reported in Arkansas nursing homes.
