The Fort Smith Police Department maintains a list of criminals they consider to be in the “top ten” of most wanted suspects that have gone unpunished for their alleged crimes.
Over the next few weeks, Inside Fort Smith will be spotlighting the men on the current list in the hopes that the public might have information to lead to the apprehension and arrest of these “Most Wanted” individuals.
Anyone with information about or know of the whereabouts of Kenny and Keimpty Xayakesone or any of the featured fugitives is asked to call the Fort Smith Police Department at 709-5000 or dial 78-CRIME.
10. Kenny and Keimpty Xayakesone
July 4, 2004, was a hot day in Fort Smith with temperatures reaching 93 degrees.
A family get-together in the 3600 block of Wilma Avenue on the city’s north side ended that holiday weekend on a tragic note for the family of Adelio Romero.
On that Sunday afternoon, Romero was gunned down in a drive-by shooting that police say was related to gang violence between Asian and Hispanic gang members.
Of the four suspects identified as involved with the shooting, two — Christopher Sisouphanh and Peter Phomphiphak — were arrested and convicted in 2005 on reduced charges of conspiracy to commit capital murder.
Two others — brothers Kenny and Keimpty Xayakesone — became fugitives from justice when warrants were issued for their arrest and despite the ongoing efforts of law enforcement have not been heard from since.
Investigators maintain that the family of the two wanted men may have hindered apprehesion and continue to do so to this day
