TULSA - The National Weather Service says heavy rain could usher scattered thunderstorms into the region through tomorrow morning.
“Widespread rains, including locally heavy rainfall potential, are expected from this afternoon into early tomorrow morning. The highest rainfall amounts are expected to be across far southeast Oklahoma,” Meteorologists said. “Scattered thunderstorms will also be possible, mainly tonight.”
Forecasters say that while the area could see wind and lightning, that we shouldn’t expect anything too drastic.
“Scattered thunderstorms are expected areawide tonight. Widespread severe weather is not expected, but isolated damaging winds to 65 mph will be possible with the strongest thunderstorms in parts of far southeast Oklahoma due to very strong wind fields aloft. The highest severe weather potential will remain well south of the Red River.” the Forecast Office noted.
